Our Story

Riggs Towing is a new, locally owned company built on a history of more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. In 2022, Riggs acquired JC’s Towing in Marion, Iowa and most recently at the end of 2023, BIG 10 University Towing out of Iowa City was acquired. These additions are the result of months and months of intentional conversations and planning between the companies. Customers’ interests are at the forefront of each of these discussions, and we are confident that your needs will continue to be met.

Riggs Towing is a new business, but it is built on a history of more than 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. I started my career years ago as a Diesel Technician and have moved through various roles in the trucking industry since then. With this extensive background and the knowledge of the team around me, customers will continue to experience the essential services that your business relies on - including heavy duty and passenger vehicle towing throughout the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area.

Over time, Riggs Towing has plans to grow the tow truck fleet and add operator(s), and ultimately serve more customers in the surrounding areas.
